The Money Club for Young Adults
Jobs - Basic Information
When you are looking for a job do not chase the cash. Instead, find a job that will teach you useful skills. Also find a great boss and great coworkers so you learn good habits. Good skills + good habits = career success (and more $).
When you are young you have an opportunity to try lots of interesting jobs. Big and small companies in different industries. Working with different people. All jobs have strengths and weaknesses and by being thoughtful about where you work you will learn lots of useful things that will help you with more important career choices you will have later in life.
When you have learned all you can at your current position/employer it might be time to move on and find the next great learning experience. Be selfish as your time is limited and valuable.
The current job market is very good for workers as there are lots of jobs and few workers to fill them. This will not always be the case. Take advantage of the current situation and find the right employment situation for you.
Volunteer activities are another way to learn useful skills.
Work for companies that have great people and where you will learn useful skills. As you fill up your tool box (with skills and good habits) you will benefit for the rest of your life - in control, more and better options and more money.
